Kyrgyzstan : Battles erupted

alleged "attempted coup" in Kyrgyzstan by ousted president Kurmanbek Bakiev.


AlJazeeraEnglish — May 15, 2010 — Security forces of the interim government in Kyrgyzstan have taken back control over government buildings from armed supporters of ousted president Kurmanbek Bakiev.

His loyalists had seized buildings in all three southern provinces of Osh, Jalalabad and Batken.

Authorities arrested alleged organisers of what they said was an "attempted coup".
